Home Groups

There are currently 12 home groups at Holy Trinity. These are the primary mechanism in the church to help us respond to Jesus’ call to follow him as his disciples. Discipleship enables us to connect with God in our daily lives: belonging more fully, believing more deeply and behaving differently. We do this through learning, praying and gathering together. Home groups usually meet once a week or once a fortnight in someone’s home. There are no rules about what goes on in a home group, but a typical meeting would involve a simple meal, perhaps some worship, some time reading the Bible and discussing it together and prayer.

In the autumn term we have a new initiative to help people to get into home groups. This is Home Group Central. Existing home groups can join, but the primary aim is to provide a place where members of Holy Trinity who are not yet in a homegroup can gather for worship, teaching and prayer. This will then lead to the creation of new home groups after Christmas. We will be going through the book of James at Home Group Central. Home Group Central takes place on Wednesday evenings, 7-9pm, starting on Wed 17th October for seven weeks, and meeting in the Church and the Wilberforce Centre. The programme is below:

17th October Suffering James 1:1-12
24th October Temptation James 1:12-18
31st October Scripture James 1:19-25
7th November Religion James 1:26-27
14th November Helping others James 2
21st November Matters of the Heart James 3
28th November Holy Living James 4-5
